Inquire about pre-surgery financial assistance application; assisting if needed.
Suggest sharing medical records with a Virtual Primary Care Doctor.
Ask about follow-up appointment scheduling barriers (caregiver, transportation).
Offer CuramLife app registration for appointment management.
Empathetically assess nutritional well-being and access to healthy foods.
Connect the Employee with a Kelly’s Choice nutritional program.
Send well-wishes via follow-up email with Curam Calendar link.
Add the Employee to follow-up calendar for services registered through CuramLife.

Follow-up from CuramLife Services

CuramLife Concierge rep makes call to check on the Employee post-procedure, as well as:
Inquiring about registered programs, especially the nutritional program.
Offering assistance and support for their Kelly’s Choice program.
Assessing financial need; supporting the Employee in financial aid application.
Thanking the Employee and sending a follow-up email.

Result:

The Employee attends follow-up appointments via CuramLife app.
Concierge aids in obtaining itemized bill and submitting financial aid application.
No surprise bill received; recovery aided by a Registered Dieticians’ advice.
The Employee appreciates the Curam Concierge and the CuramLife program.
The store owner is satisfied with the resources and the Employee’s return to work.
The store owner is also pleased with the support provided through CuramLife.

Employee with a sick child

SCENARIO: An employee’s child wakes up with a sore throat, swollen glands, and a low-grade fever.

WITHOUT CuramLife:

The employee and their spouse face a quick, difficult decision on who takes off work to get the child to urgent care and who will take a younger sibling to their daycare center.
The parents decide the Employee will call off work to get the sick child to the Urgent Care Center.
The Employee first takes the well child to daycare with the sick child along.
After dropping off the well sibling, the Employee takes the sick child to the closest Urgent Care Center.
At Urgent Care, the Employee and sick child wait nearly 2 hours to be seen by a doctor.
The doctor diagnoses strep throat and prescribes an antibiotic.
Concerned about other sick individuals in the waiting room, the Employee worries about getting sick or the child catching something worse.
The Employee takes the sick child home and stops at a drugstore to pick up a prescription.

Result:

The Employee has taken a full day off work, leaving the store owner unhappy and short-staffed for the day.
The Employee might have caught the same illness as the child, requiring more time off.
The Employee loses a day’s pay due to absence and is dissatisfied.

WITH CuramLife:

Employee with serious symptoms

SCENARIO: An Employee wakes up and experiences dizziness and difficulty breathing. Additionally, they feel slight chest pain, especially when lifting things. The Employee becomes very concerned and needs to know what is going on.

WITHOUT CuramLife:

The Employee rushes to the nearest hospital emergency room to be evaluated. They had to call in to work to tell the owner they couldn’t be there due to the health issue.
After waiting in the ER waiting room for almost 3 hours, the Employee is finally seen by an ER physician. After examination, they are deemed to just be experiencing an anxiety attack and are prescribed anti-anxiety medication and told to go home and rest.

Result:

The store owner was left without adequate worker coverage for that day and was not happy. The Employee did not get paid for that day and weeks later learned that they had a hospital ER bill of over $3,000!

Upon experiencing symptoms, the Employee makes an On-Demand Services call and speaks to a board-certified physician via video conference within 15 mins.

Employee’s access to physical and wellness visits

SCENARIO: While on the job, an Employee struggles with cramps in his legs and is unsure of what to do. The employee hasn’t visited a doctor in 5 years.

WITHOUT CuramLife:

The Employee doesn’t think it warrants an expensive urgent care visit, so he ices his legs at home.
Temporary relief comes from icing, but leg cramps worsen, weight gain noticed, and their ability to work is reduced.
After 6 months, the Employee goes to urgent care. Lab work shows critically low potassium and high cholesterol, risking a major cardiac event.
The Employee faces a large urgent care bill and is unsure which doctor to see for care coordination.
